| | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 11, 2024-9:32 AM | | | By: | dragon53(Member) | FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11 INVESTIGATION ALIEN---trailer released for the Netflix docuseries about UFOs. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUjTGsbb3C4 MARTHA---trailer released for the Netflix documentary about Martha Stewart. LINK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6blC6bsgZmc HEADHUNTERS---Kevin Costner is the star/co-writer/producer of the movie about a washed-up surfer who leads a team of surfers to find the "the perfect wave" on Bali and encounter a tribe of deadly headhunters. VOLTRON---Henry Cavill has joined the cast of the live-action movie based on the animated series. His role was not disclosed. WONDER WOMAN 3---Connie Nielsen commented on the DC Studios decision to shelve the second sequel, “I think it’s crazy. I mean, frankly, I don’t understand it. [WONDER WOMAN] made $800 million just in the movie theaters, and it has an enormous and passionate, passionate fan base. These are spectacular films, and there’s just no reason I can understand whatsoever for not investing in that. If I were a business person, I would say that’s money on the table. It’s right there. Plus every time we’ve done it, [it was] with budgets that were way smaller than any of the other DC budgets. It’s a pity. I really hope that they change their minds, and that they realize this is crazy. This is a billion dollars that is lying on the table. Not claiming those fans and making them happy is something I just don’t really understand at all.” BATMAN---a rumor claimed "...DC Studios wants a middle-aged Batman for the DCU!". DC Studios co-head James Gunn replied, "Bulls*t" and later added, “Sometimes the rumor folks get information wrong – but other times they seem to just make up stuff for clicks out of whole cloth. This is one of the latter.” THE KARATE KID---Sony Pictures announced the title for the sequel starring Ralph Macchio, Jackie Chan and Ben Wang is KARATE KID: LEGENDS. THE HIDER---Robert Downey, Jr. is in talks to star in the movie based on the short story whose plot has not been disclosed. NETFLIX---Netflix renewed THE DIPLOMAT and NOBODY WANTS THIS. PEAKY BLINDERS---Sophie Rundle, Packy Lee, Stephen Graham and Ian Peck are returning for the Netflix movie based on the tv series. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE---Netflix series underway based on the Jane Austen novel. TRIVIA---Marina Sirtis is best known for playing Counselor Deanna Trois on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. One of Sirtis' first movie roles was in DEATH WISH 3 where she played rape victim Maria Rodriguez. Sirtis said director Michael Winner pressured her into filming the nude rape scene. She also said the rape scene was filmed in an extremely cold garage where Winner would not let her sit up, and when the director of photography put a coat on her to keep her warm, Winner ordered him to remove it. Years later, Sirtis said, "I know you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but I hope Michael Winner will rot in hell for all eternity. I was pressured into doing a graphic rape scene, with nudity I did not feel comfortable with, and I said nothing. You didn't say anything because you were told you would never work again, and I wasn't going to let some idiot who didn't know how to behave destroy the dream I'd had since I was three years old." Kirk Taylor, who also appeared in DEATH WISH 3, said Winner was disliked by many of the cast and crew because of his dictatorial behavior which led to one crew member printing a fake newspaper article which said, "Michael Winner Killed by a Falling Scaffold. All 200 Crewmembers Claim Responsibility." Marina Sirtis is best known for playing Counselor Deanna Trois on STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION. One of Sirtis' first movie roles was in DEATH WISH 3 where she played rape victim Maria Rodriguez in which she said she was mistreated by director Michael Winner. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 11, 2024-9:54 AM | | | By: | Solium(Member) | RE: Wonder Woman- I guess Connie didn’t hear about the first sequel. RE: Death Wish 3- Marina took the job of a “rape victim” and as far as I know these contracts stipulate if nudity was required so I really don’t see where she has a valid complaint. She did something very similar in The Wicked Lady two years earlier. RE: Costner- Hope he keeps his shirt on. No one wants to see his 69 year old man boobs. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 11, 2024-11:41 AM | | | By: | Prince Damian(Member) |
RE: Costner- Hope he keeps his shirt on. No one wants to see his 69 year old man boobs. Speak for yourself. Apparently they can act him off the screen. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 11, 2024-1:09 PM | | | By: | TheAvenger(Member) | I feel bad for Marina and what happened, but it looks like a little revisionist history on her feeling of nudity. That film was in 1985. In 1983 she did topless work in a fight scene in another film. She had two years to change her mind and surely she read the script. Not only that but it was for the same director, Michael Winner. It was The Wicked Lady. And not only was Sirtis topless in the fight scene you refer to, she also briefly flashed her pubic hair as she runs out of bed. And a year before she was in Death Wish 3, Sirtis played a prostitute in Blind Date, where she was tied to a bed, again topless. Presumably she had to be “bullied” into that too. Sirtis is sadly typical of actresses who have very meagre talent but have got into movies because they were willing to strip naked for a role and then retrospectively claim it was against their will. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 11, 2024-2:05 PM | | | By: | drop_forge(Member) | RE: Wonder Woman- I guess Connie didn’t hear about the first sequel. Wonder Woman 1984 had a production budget of $200 million and grossed about $131 million at the global box office, which means it likely lost money for the studio. Funny how they forget that. WW84 would've made money if not for the pandemic. Nielsen's right. Warner-Discovery is leaving money on the table, something they've excelled at these last few years. Wait till Gunn's movie takes a Superdump. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 11, 2024-3:21 PM | | | By: | (Member) | I think the more we learn about directors in Hollywood, the more we'll find a LOT of them are horrible horrible people, or at best rather crazy. True, but actors are also terrible and - weird, weird - as the insufferable Ziegler would say. The insufferable Ziegler would also say - That,s showbiz baby. What movie is she starring in, btw. It seems like a project, ten trillion years in the making. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 12, 2024-4:22 AM | | | By: | Bill Carson, Earl of Poncey(Member) | It's a terrible thing if Winner mistreated Sirtis. It would be even worse if Sirtis is lying. However, the most horrible thing about the entire situation is that there are multiple people at FSM who are experts on Marina Sirtis' non-TNG career. Kidding. I think. In UK, death wish 3 is screening tonight on itv4 at 11.40pm | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 12, 2024-4:25 AM | | | By: | Solium(Member) | It's a terrible thing if Winner mistreated Sirtis. WW84 would've made money if not for the pandemic. Maybe. The film certainly would have made more money had it been released pre-pandemic or even a few years later, but it still would have been diminishing returns, and would not have likely made anywhere near the first film. The first film was very well regarded by the fans, and many saw the film multiple times in the theater. WW84, however, is not well regarded by most of the fanbase. Maybe a third film could have won back the fanbase, but when one considers the performance of WW84 along with Shazam 2 bombing, Black Adam bombing, Aquaman 2 bombing, and Blue Beetle bombing, it isn't a surprise WB shelved the DCEU and chose to start things over. | | | | | | | | | | Posted: | Oct 12, 2024-7:42 AM | | | By: | Justin Boggan(Member) | A&C, I didn't mean for it to sounds like it was just directors. Indeed, my list of horrible/batshit crazy/weirdos in Hollywood would go like this (starting with the most): 1. Actors and actresses. And It's Pat's. 2. Producers 3. Directors 4. Studio Executives 5. Some composers. Everyone else in other professions, based on my limited knowledge, seem to puddle in just the same average of horrible monsters. | | | | | | Non-Film Score Discussion:HEADHUNTERS, WONDER WOMAN, DEATH WISH | | First Post |
