| Posted: Thu Apr 19, 2012 7:32 pm Post subject: Kronos 73 has arrived but....... | | | My new K 73 has finally arrived and it sounds far better than I had ever anticipated!!! But a couple of questions, based around my readings of this forum : I am trying to get it to display the symptoms of this keybed problem. But I cannot ... Can someone explain EXACTLY what it is I need to do to test the keybed on the Kronos? Or is it a fault that appears with time and use? OR is it simply that not ALL keybeds are affected and I have been lucky in the unit I have?? Please don't misunderstand, I DON'T want to find anything, just trying to make sure that if the problem is not here now it won't appear in the future. The other thing is should I update to OS 1.6? I have been reading some "bad press" in the forum about it not being fully tested and creating "issues" for experienced owners. Can anyone please confirm it is okay to go ahead and load 1.6.... One other thing, can anyone please direct me to a series of videos or "KARMA For Dummies" / "KARMA 101" type web-pages or resources? Thanks |

If you're just banging out chords, you won't notice it. I'm still waiting for the "all clear" before i get a 73 again. otherwise, love the keyboard. cheers |

I don't know about the 73, but Sweetwater Sound has stated that the last shipment of 88's they received , and all future shipments have the new keybed. You might want to call them for more information. On this basis, I've ordered an 88, delivery expected in June. (I'm in Canada). I had to return the first two units, which both had the problematic keybeds. Here's hoping that the third times the charm! Lawrence |

You will find Karma very powerful but different from the arranger backing that you are familiar with. There are some great Karma demo videos available for the Oasys, which is very similar to Kronos and will help you to get started, here :- http://www.karma-lab.com/vp/klvp2.html?ch=sounds&playID=409 click on the top left hand 'select channel and media' tab and navigate to Karma Oasys workstation and check out the Karma intro video and others I will be interested to see how you go with it, if you MIDI it to your PA3X you will have a very impressive setup. _________________ Steve M Kurzweil K2000, Yamaha CS1X, Minimoog, Oasys76, GEM Promega 3, Korg PA3X, Kurzweil PC3K8 Too many toys are never enough! |

| Posted: Fri Apr 20, 2012 1:46 am Post subject: | | | Thanks Steve...I will check out that link... Dennis PS: the PA3 is gone m8, it went to make way for the K!! I just woke up one morning and decided I was OVER arrangers....even with lots of styles etc, they just get so repetitive and well, boring. It was one of the things I loved about the arps on the Yammie XS/XF series... I could load one of those up and then just jam for half an hour...but load up a style on the PA3 and within about 5 minutes I was looking for something different.. It is why I really want to give the Karma thing a go....Now if we can only convince Korg to take up Karma 3 from SK!!!! From what I ahve seen and read about what Karma 3 is doing for the Motif!!!! In fact if one did not HAVE to take a PC to a gig to run it on the Motif, I would have had a Motif XF + Karma 3 instead!!!! |

I don't think you can compare the features of an arranger with the features you have in Kronos (Karma). Other then having an arpeggiator, I don't see how I can benefit from the more advanced Karma styles and drumkits. Now, if the Karma editor was included with the Kronos, that would be a different story ![Korg Forums :: View topic (77) Korg Forums :: View topic (77)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==) _________________ Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61 2011 gig setup: Korg Kronos 88 |

Exactly my point :p I really dislike the fact that there was a flyer inside the box of my Kronos that tried to sell me third party software which probably should've been included for free... _________________ Old gig setup: Yamaha S90, Roland Fantom XR, Hammond XM-1, M-Audio Axiom 61 2011 gig setup: Korg Kronos 88 |

It's where the key strikes causing an unnatural rebound. It's a simple fix I believe. My keyboard is being fixed at the moment. _________________ https://m.youtube.com/user/1967runningman |
